I am a molecular biologist with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals as first/co-first author and contributor. I have a strong sense for structure and argumentative flow. Before I turned to the life sciences full time, I earned a degree in German language and literature, and that linguistic foundation still shapes how I think, read, and write today.

My academic journey took me through working with fungi, bacteria, and plants — from co-cultures to gene overexpression and protein work. I conducted research in York (UK), then returned to Germany to pursue my doctorate at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. There, I earned my Dr. rer. nat. in Molecular Biology, with a focus on synthetic biology in blue-green algae (photosynthetic bacteria). My work explored protein co-localisation and genetic engineering strategies for enhanced catalytic efficiency.

Alongside my academic path, I also worked in industry — both in the UK and later in Berlin — deepening my understanding of how research translates beyond academia. I’ve contributed to international collaborations, published in peer-reviewed journals, and developed a deep interest in the architecture of scientific writing: how ideas connect, how evidence flows, and how a manuscript conveys more than just the results.

Outside of science, I write fiction and pursue other creative projects. They sharpen my instinct for narrative and remind me how structure and clarity are essential to every good story, scientific or otherwise.

These skills feed directly into my work today: helping researchers gain clarity before they write, by finding the core of their research and translating it into a structured, compelling manuscript plan.
